| Reiki
is a powerful, yet non-invasive healing technique developed
in Japan in the early 20th century. As a holistic approach,
Reiki treats both the physical symptoms of illness, as well
as the underlying causes, by helping to resolve the mental
and emotional factors contributing to dis-ease. Reiki is an
effective treatment to:
promote deep relaxation, alleviate
fatigue,
release stress/tension/anxiety, reduce pain,
increase body awareness, improve circulation
and detoxify the body.
A treatment involves a combination of Reiki, Therapeutic
Touch, and intuitive healing techniques. The use
of technique is coupled with a compassionate sense of awareness
and intuitive sensitivity of what each person needs based
on their uniqueness. Healing occurs through the placement
of the practitioner’s hands on specific areas of the
body and in the energy field, to balance the body by releasing
blockages, encouraging a healthy energy flow, and stimulating
the body’s own natural healing functions. Light pressure
may also be applied with the fingertips to encourage the release
of tension from the tissues of the body and facilitate healing.
